Love Letters

Studio Theatre

From January 25, 2013 - February 3, 2013

Presented by Encore Entertainment

The Pulitzer-nominated Love Letters is an entertaining and insightful look at friendship, love and life. It traces, through letters, the relationship between staid, dutiful lawyer Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and lively, unstable artist Melissa Gardner. Their bittersweet relationship gradually unfolds from what is written - and what is left unsaid - in 50 years of letter writing. Simply written but rich in emotions, Love Letters was a hit both on and off Broadway.

Featuring a rotating cast of Encore favourites, it's worth seeing twice!

"With laughing-out-loud lines and an ending that will squeeze tears out of all but the stoniest hearts."

Jacob and Jack

Studio Theatre

From February 27, 2013 - March 10, 2013

Presented by Teatron Theatre

Jack Shore is appearing for one night only in a tribute to his grandfather, Jacob Shemerinsky, great star of the Yiddish Theatre. Backstage in his dressing room, Jack confronts his challenges as an actor and as a husband to his co-starring wife. Simultaneously, 75 years in the past, Jacob has problems of his own. A dizzying display of life in the theatre in this time-traveling farce.

"A classic marital farce ingeniously complicated by historical layering and virtuosic dual role-playing. And a beguiling comic love letter to the American theater - from its Yiddish roots to its long obsession with the siren call that lures stage actors to Hollywood. All this, plus a whole lot of laugh-out-loud escapades."

Enter Laughing

Studio Theatre

From April 25, 2013 - May 5, 2013

Presented by Encore Entertainment

Based on the semi-autobiographical book by Carl Reiner, Enter Laughing details a week in the life of David Kolowitz, a geeky, gawky young Jewish kid from the Bronx - a delivery boy with dreams of becoming an actor, who must contend with the Jewish guilt laid on by his mother, a few girlfriends too many, and the fact that - well, he's just not that great an actor.

Chock full of old-school shtick, physical comedy and "Jewish humour", this hilarious show is sure to keep you laughing from start to finish.

"You can't pack more laughter and fun into a finite space and time"
