Based on "The diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank

Produced by Encore Entertainment

Second only to the Bible, ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ remains one of the most read books in world history.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, The Tony Award, The Critic’s Circle Award, The Academy Award and many other coveted accolades, The Diary of Anne Frank has been seen in many forms on stage, film and television since it debuted on Broadway in 1955.

The story of Anne Frank is not new to anyone. Hiding from the Nazis in an attic for two years with her family, and recording her struggle in a diary became the voice of a generation. Time magazine named her one of the Most Important People of the Century in 1999, stating, “With a diary kept in a secret attic, she braved the Nazis and lent a searing voice to the fight for human dignity”

The play is an inspiring story of hope and perseverance, which serves as a timeless lesson that the spirit of a child can be unbroken and impossible to deny.

An extraordinary portrayal of humanity set during one of history’s most inhumane periods, it is an impassioned drama about the lives of eight people concealed in a storage attic to save themselves: the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence – their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief. Each day of these two dark years, Anne’s voice shines through: “I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I’ve never met. I want to go on living after my death.”

With its universal themes, this is a play for everyone, from ages 12 – 90, of every religious and cultural background; all are welcome to see this story unfold in the historic Studio Theatre at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.

April 22 – May 2, 2010

Written by Neil Simon

Produced by Encore Entertainment

Starring Mario D’Alimonte

In one of Neil Simon’s most human and insightful plays, middle-aged, faithful, responsible Barney Cashman, wants to experience one sweeping romantic fling outside of his tranquil marriage before life passes him by. On three different afternoons he invites women to his mother’s empty apartment while she is out doing charity work. Behind plentiful laughs is a tender and timeless portrayal of a decesnt fellow, who’s personal morals are colliding with the sexual revolution of the day. This is a comedy that will linger long after the laughter has become an appreciated memory.
