Tango + JAZZ Nuevo

Happening in the George Weston Recital Hall

Leading Canadian musicians and dancers unite in one dynamic and passionate performance - Tango + JAZZ Nuevo.  Virtuoso pianist Michael Berkovsky and renowned violinist Conrad Chow perform works by Astor Piazzolla: The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, Oblivion, and the beloved Por Una Cabeza from the soundtrack of Scent of a Woman. They are joined by award-winning, critically acclaimed dancer Anjelica Scannura and dance partner Damian Norman, who embody the sensual intensity of this statuesque art form.

The afternoon culminates with Claude Bolling's Jazz suite: a triumphant crossover between 1940's big band vintage sound and the intimacy of the classical chamber quartet. Berkovsky and Chow are joined by Lorne Grossman on drums, Bob Mills on bass, and Andrew Ascenzo on Cello.
